Hello Scribes. We've got a few more changes for you today as well as a bit of a warning about something you've probably all noticed by now. For now, Advanced Scribes is under nightly backups where the site temporarily goes down between the hours of 2-3 am EST. We ask that you remain diligent about it and save your work prior so nothing is lost as this will be a consistent occurrence for an unforeseen amount of time. Aside from that, we also want to announce upcoming changes or changes that may have just gone through recently! Our overseer Meraki has returned post titles, fixed the width preview to match with the post width, and altered the settings to restore the bold effect for all fonts. We can also anticipate the final results of the survey listed to be taken into account and changes coming to represent that very soon. Keep in mind, we currently have a competition going for site-wide color themes that will be ending within the week that will begin bringing new color opportunities to the site. It is also imperative to be on the lookout for house set-up changes as the poll attached to the competition has allowed us to gauge what you all want and make it happen. Houses will now be getting their own boards and we can't wait to implement this feature soon! Thank you all for your feedback during this time of change and we hope you enjoy more to come.

      Hello Scribes,
xxxxxxThe time has finally come to announce the newest additions to our staff team. First of all, we want to thank everyone who sent us an application! It was such a difficult decision to make, but we've come to the decision as a team and are so very ready to welcome the new members into our ranks. Please do not be discouraged if you were not picked as you are always welcome to submit an application again once we have slots open! Please take note that there were a few changes along the way while we were reviewing the applications. We will actually be welcoming one new Attendant and one new Global Mod and one new Overseer at this time. We've had a few staff step down, so we needed to fill the most vital roles first. Don't worry though! We will likely have openings again soon to fill up the rest! With that explained, I would like to now announce who our new team members are!

      New Attendant.
      Chemically Poisoned.

      New Global Moderator.
      Lost.

      New Overseer.
      NeverNever.

      Welcome to the team guys!

As sad as it is to say, we've lost a few staff members recently. Please give a warm thanks to them for all the hard work they put into the site while they were on the team. Good luck with your future endeavors!

      Hello, Scribers!
We have recently updated a few of the rules regarding what is allowed on the site, regardless of whether the content is posted on the explicit board or not. For those of you who have access to the explicit board, please look here for the updated rules. We are now no longer allowing the sexualization of individuals below the age of 16 on our platform, no matter the context, and not in slave x master in particular. Although AS does not regulate what you write in PMs, we strongly encourage you to consider potential implications of your content and highly recommend that you refrain from role-playing such topics due to the legal ramifications.
Please note: Staff will be alotting one week for users to retrieve any content that needs to be salvaged before the threads are locked and removed. Please take this time to save anything you’d like to keep. After a week, all threads found violating our new rule- new and old- will be locked and unavailable. If you have any questions, please reach out to staff for more clarification. Happy writing!

      Hello Scribers!
We are currently experiencing a glitch with the explicit board permissions – we are aware of this and would like to thank the users who bought it to our attention. We would like to assure you that this is not due to the new rules, the board has not been taken offline or removed and we are working hard to bring it back online for those of you who usually have access to the board. We are working to fix the issue, we aim to have the board return to its normal state within 12 hours and no longer than 24.

      Hello Scribers!
In regards to the explicit board permissions glitch – we have restored permissions for those users we have written on our permissions list. If you believe you have been missed and still do not have access to this board when you should please contact Commander Shepard and we will endeavour to fix this issue.

House Points Tally
2018

Image

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm as we move into January with the new year ahead of us.

I hope you will all take a moment to read about the house points and congratulate our winning house for the year of 2018! We underwent some changes this year, and included some new events such as our gift exchange in December. I want to thank everyone who participated in earning points for the houses this year!

While the events are the main source of points for the Houses, I want to remind everyone to take advantage of the other opportunities as well! You can earn several points each month by sending in Afflatus submissions which really add up at the end of each month!

Now without further ado, I’d like to move onto the results of our second year of houses and points!

We know there were some changes this year for the competitions but are doing our best to work
towards a great system that will motivate people to participate or at least have good community spirit.

Please join us as we start off 2019 with a new competition! We have shifted back to writing
and hope many will participate in the 1x1 Roleplay Competition. Go check out the announcement for the events for 2019!

        Greetings, Scribes!

With the month of January coming to a quick end, it's time to dive into our next event, ranging through the months of February and March. Like last year, users are invited to participate in a 1x1 Roleplay Competition that will officially begin as soon as February 1st [CST]. Some things have changed since last year's event, so we'd advise you to read through the official post to look at what's new and have an overall understanding of how the event works. And if you're excited to participate but don't have a partner, there's a dedicated thread to help users find a buddy to write with for the approaching two months. And I believe that will be all for this mini-announcement!

        Happy writing!

      • Hello Scribers,

The Social Media Challenge has been up and running for a few weeks and we’d like to check in on what you think about it. We have a survey, completely anonymous, and would appreciate if you felt you have the ability to make this new event even better for the community. Our survey can be found here!

For those of you that are unaware, the Social Media Challenge is something designed to give site members recognition of their ability to create an amazing short story based on a prompt. The challenge is found on social media, and updated each month so there is a new winner for each month of the year. Further details can be found here.

        We hope you enjoy!

      Hello Scribers,
In regards to the Social Media Challenge, a few users were wondering why it has not been refreshed this month. We are just pausing for a short while to assess the feedback received in the survey and how the event can be changed to suit a wider range of site members. We have plans to bring it back, until then feel free to comment on the discussion board or contact Global Moderators / Attendants over what you may like to see if you have any last minute suggestions.
      Stay tuned!
