    • Image Hello Scribers,
Staff would like to share a new resource for all members. A general-use anonymous box that can be used for anything related to the site. If you have suggestions, critique, or just feedback in general, we welcome you to use this handy tool. Unfortunately, it is off-site, but it is the only way that we can keep things anonymous for those who do not feel comfortable sharing what they think to the public. You can find this handy tool here! Please remember to use this appropriately - no unnecessary bashing or swearing.

Another quick little note to make is that we've come up with an end date for our site survey. The survey will close on March 31st, 2019 at Midnight EST. Please make sure to leave us some feedback! Every little bit counts, and we appreciate every bit of feedback we receive, both good and bad. At the conclusion of the survey, we’ll be posting up some of the findings to work with all of you on how we can improve Advanced Scribes as a whole.
Thank you for all that you do!

    • Image Hello Scribers,
Just a reminder that the AS Survey is ending tomorrow, April 1st at 11:59 pm EST! We'd love to hear directly from you guys if there are any areas of concerns or areas where things are working. Today and tomorrow are your last chances to tell us your thoughts on the site, so don't miss out.
It'll take us a while to sort through all of the comments, so after the deadline, please allow us a few days to process through everything. A thread will be posted later this week with the results. Thank you for your feedback and patience.

    • Image Hello Scribes,
First and foremost, the results for the 1x1 Event have been posted and we'd like to thank everyone who participated! Even with a relatively busy few months for Advanced Scribes staff and members, we're still very happy with the turn out. Please take the time to participate in the poll at the top of the results thread to help us know how we can better the event for the future!
Second, as you may have been catching while you browse the site, the staff had a bit of fun for April Fools and have inserted a bit of fun word replacements. Please note these changes are only live for the next few hours and will be reverted back to their original state very soon. Staff is also aware of changes that will be looked into for the next April Fools to minimize the hassle of word changes if they are implemented next year.
In the meantime, here is a comprehensive translation list of the word changes on the site to help you continue about your writing for the day :)

      • Hello Scribers,
This is just a quick reminder and refresher for everyone. You may not post searching for explicit content in the normal 1x1 roleplay search. There is a designated thread in the explicit section to make posts relating to this. This includes but is not limited to slave x master, rape, incest, vore, bestiality, and other taboo subjects including pseudo- subjects that are portrayed like the real thing such as pseudo-rape.

Any posts that are found in the normal 1x1 roleplay search will be removed, and you will receive a private message from staff as to why. You also may not post in the listing area anything relating to the more explicit nature of your search. This includes all the above topics as well.

To counter this, we've added a section in the explicit section here for the storage of more explicit orientated searches. You may make a post there detailing the explicit things you are searching for. If you need access to the explicit board, please contact an Admin Aide and have your birthday noted on your profile.

    • I wanted to take this opportunity to lay out some expectations that really should not have needed explaining. The staff is here to help. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, absolutely bring them up! But unconstructive bashing doesn’t achieve anything and does not make others want to help you, nor does it make the space inviting for those who may have different opinions. Be concise, be constructive, be civil. And, if you do feel unheard, that is NOT the time to go to staff members individually/privately to tug at their sleeves hoping for special treatment. It is also NOT permitted to ever request the rules be bent for you by staff you may be friends with, such as regarding roleplay post length, age for explicit area access, etc. This website is intended to be a mature area with mature content, not a place to aggressively criticise or expect special favors out of friendships. You opinions and input absolutely matter, but how you share them also matters! We want everyone to be able to speak up, and to be heard. If you feel uncomfortable speaking up, we do also have our anonymous feedback box and a corresponding response thread but I implore you to be civil, as blatant bashing will not receive a response.

    • Happy May everyone!

As many near the end of their current semester, I hope you all are doing okay and staying afloat in your busy lives. As we shift towards summer in the northern hemisphere, I wanted to let you all know about recent changes in the AS team. As we recently noted, darkness has left the team to focus on life and we wish her well!! More recently though, NeverNever has stepped down from role of Overseer and Amaranthine Keeper so that she can have a better balance in life as she is very busy as of late, and unfortunately some members have been very impatient and unkind about the inability of her or any other Overseer we have had to snap their fingers and produce new features. These things take quite a lot of time, learning, trial and error, etc. As staff are here to contribute out of their own good will, I hope that in the future members will be more patient and understanding of this, while staff will also strive for better, more prompt, and more open communication so that you guys know what’s going on.

That said, I implore any who have coding experience (primarily web-based, such as PHP, HTML, CSS) to apply to be our new Overseer!! It’s such an important position and we could really use the help!

Moving on to other team changes, I am so incredibly pleased to share with you that Commander Shepard will be stepping into the new role of Admin! She has proven herself to be fair, communicative, reasonable, calm, prudent, and dependable, and her help has been absolutely invaluable to me. I have absolutely no desire to hoard the admin power all to myself and I know it’s been a while since we had a new administrator, and I find myself embracing this new change and hope you all will too. She has been such an incredible asset to the AS team and I am so excited for her to take on this new role. Over the next couple months, she and I will be working together to get her trained up on anything she doesn’t already know, as well as improving our admin-level team resources for future staff as we go over these things. You may keep asking Shep for access to the explicit board, as we will not have an admin aide until the position is filled! Bear with us in the mean time and please join me in congratulating Shep on this exciting new change!

    • Hello Scribers,

You may have noticed some bugs on the site yesterday and today. Unfortunately, while we were aware of the issue it was not possible to sort it until now. We are back online and running right now, so if you find any further bugs please do let us know ASAP either through the site or one of the social media pages. We hope you found the updates on social media of use during our unscheduled downtime and that was where we posted our 100 dos prompt so scribers could still keep up to date. If there are any more unscheduled downtimes please do check our social media pages as this is where we'll update you as much as we can.

      Our 100 dos prompt for today;

Day Twelve: • "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." - Martin Luther King Jr. (June 12)

Note from Thunder: thank you all in being patient with us while we tried to inform everyone of the unexpected downtime and worked to get it resolved!!

Explicit Board Expansion

    • Hello Scribers,

We have recently added to the sub-boards available in the explicit area. Thanks to it being brought to our attention that users may have content besides actual roleplays that are inappropriate for the main forum, we have expanded the explicit area.

The explicit area now consists of the following sub-boards:
Explicit Listings, Explicit Discussions, Explicit Storage, and Explicit Share Your Writing

Remember, access to the explicit board is optional and a privilege. For access, you must be 18 years old and have your age visible on your profile. Contact an Admin Aide for access!

    • Hello Scribers,
Everyone, please read the following. It really should go without saying, but unfortunately has occurred multiple times now. We understand that the Afflatus submittal form allows members to contribute material, questions, and ideas to the Afflatus anonymously, however we designed that set up to benefit members and allow people to more comfortably share constructive suggestions and ask questions. It should absolutely not be abused. Unfortunately however, there have been multiple incidents of a single user submitting an inappropriate number of prompts that are absurd and unusable. We understand if you have more than just the one idea, but dumping as many as dozens of prompts is not acceptable. It is not fair to others, it is not honorable to your house, and it is not okay here on AS. In this most recent case, we will not be sharing the ideas and we will not be awarding points. Please note that even if it wasn't clearly a mass dump of prompts by a single user, the suggestions in this case were not usable material for our purposes. If such issues continue, members risk having the anonymity feature revoked.
Thank you for your attention, have a wonderful day.
      -Shep.
