Pagan Darlings

Mon Jan 09, 2017 8:36 am

Okay first thing's first.
This is not an opinion/debate thread.
Please don't hate on someone else's beliefs. I really don't want to start a religious argument.
I'm genuinely curious to hear about the experiences of my fellow Pagans!
Let's talk about

past lives
patrons
rituals
spells/recipes
experiences

If you want to know more about Paganism, please ask questions!

Contrary to popular belief, most of us we don't bite.
All I ask of everyone is to stay respectful.

Hello! What is paganism? I'm interested in learning about it from people who practise it!
Does it ever drive you crazy? Just how fast the night changes?

    • Paganism is actually a lot more general that most people realize! It's the general belief of more than one higher power, whether that be entities or energies.
Personally, I'm more on the energy side of things. I believe everything and everyone has an energy that can be shared, affected, and manipulated. Energy to me is what people tend to think of as "magick". I also believe in things like astral projection and past lives c:

That actually makes sense to me. I didn't realise it was about energies as well. I'm actually atheist but I could definitely see myself identifying as a pagan instead of a Christian if I were to become religious and believe in higher powers. I'll definitely check paganism out to learn more about it as a whole!

    • Oh yeah, it makes more sense to me than a lot of things. Both half of my families are super religious but in different religions, and neither ever felt right but neither did believing in nothing.
Past lives seemed a lot more... Viable? To me? Than an afterlife or straight up nothing.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions! I'd be happy to help with anything c:

Yeah, my moms side is very Baptist and my dads side is a mix of catholics and Jehovah's witnesses. And for a long time I said I was agnostic because no one even mentions paganism or anything.

    • Uhh huh same. My mom was disfellowshipped from Jehova's Witnesses because she had me out of wedlock and our family doesnt talk to her. But they talk to me about her like shes dead and it reeaally pisses me off. I try to respect everyone's beliefs and I don't know about all Witnesses, but at least in my family it comes off as a cult. They feed you straight up lies and make you fear disobeying them.
My cousin's seven year old said one time that the church was pagan and they worshipped satan there.
... There's too many wrong things to even count in that sentence.
BUT I have also met some very nice Witnesses. All religions have their whackos.

Yeah, I've met some very extreme Witnesses to. My dad is a witness but he's never pushed his beliefs on me or my brothers. He knows I'm atheist and he doesn't damn me too hell. I think every religion has its extremist group of people that make the whole religion look bad.

    • See, that's wonderful. I honestly think there's a truth and a beauty to the core of every religion. There are so many similarities in them all but I think it's fascinating to look at the cultural interperatations.
I never really understood the idea of a single diety somehow controlling us all, but that's just me. I prefer to believe that my soul shares the universe with other energies that belong to nature. Literally Colors of the Wind is my themesong lol

Yeah that makes more sense to me as well. Where I live there's a lot of conservative Christians, who don't believe in evolution or anything. And I don't understand that.
