; plot. it's easy to watch a horror movie and say,
"i would never do that." but what happens when
you're thrown right into the middle of the same
nightmares you've seen on television? our story
begins with a group of friends who decide their
summer needs a little more booze, flings, and
excitement. they find themselves in a cabin in
the woods far from cell service and civilization.
when things start to take a creepy turn, it's up
to the group to decide if it's a poor prank, or if
something more is going on. is someone in their
party responsible for the eerie sounds, late night
scares, and missing items? or could it be an out-
side force that isn't pleased with loud noises and
unwelcomed guests? tune in to find out.

; one. please make sure you follow all site rules.
; two. don't get in over your head. only play as
many characters as you can handle.

; three. try and code your forms and posts at
            least a little bit.

; four. always keep your signature off in the
roleplay thread. we don't want clutter.

; five. use correct grammar to the best of your
ability. small mistakes and typos are fine.

; six. this will be a pretty relaxed and easy-going
roleplay, but do your best to post once a week.

; seven. characters may be of any gender and
sexuality. you don't have to stick to the "horror"
stereotypes, but let me know if you want one.

"Jesus H. Macy." Sage snatched up her blonde locks and pulled them back into a rough bun on the top of her head. This had been the twelfth time she had to stop to move tree branches out of the path of her car. "I hope there's another road into this place or so help us when we see the inside." Her hands grasped the rough bark of the fallen limb and jerked to pull it aside. With three heaves, she had it far enough off the dirt lane to be able to move her car past it. As she climbed back into her car, she wiped a hand against the sweat on her forehead and left a smear of dirt in its wake. Her muddied hand grasped her gear head and shifted her car out of idle. Puttering sounds rumbled up from underneath the hood of her car and sent a rush of panic straight to her stomach. A quick prayer to the car itself and the puttering turned into a soft hum. "Thank you," she whispered, patting the worn leather steering wheel in front of her. "This has to be the most stressful start to a vacation..."

It was no surprise to the blonde that no one else was at the cabin yet. Not only had the littered drive there proven no one had been through to clear the branches, but she had always considered herself to be the most straight forward person in her friend group. She had known from the beginning when they were first planning that the drive would be different distances for each of them. And she had also known that she'd be the only one to get up at four in the morning to start her trek there. Though, now that she could fully view what they had found for themselves, it made all of the branches, dirt, and fighting worth it. The cabin was out of the reach of civilization. Even once you were out of the woods and off the dirt lane, it had been a good hour and a half since she had seen the last gas station and twice as long since the last Wal-Mart. It was beautifully built from rough stones and logs big enough to have been the trunk of a tree. A bright smile played on her lips for the first time since her alarm had gone off that morning. Someone had thoughtfully built a deck onto the backside of the cabin, giving it direct access to the lake. It also made the perfect space for late night drinking under the stars and (skinny) dips into the cool water of the lake. She pulled out her phone to send a text in their group message that she had arrived and realized what she should have known all along. They were in the middle of nowhere, and that meant no service. Her eyes fell to the corner and noted that even the Emergency Call button which let you borrow other tower's signals had disappeared as well. An audible "hm" vibrated in her throat. "Well. Hopefully no one gets hurt more than what Holden knows about in his brain full of vast knowledge."

Sage stood on the deck of the cabin and pulled out her phone. 11:41 a.m. It had been almost two hours exactly since she had arrived. During that time all of her bags had been moved in and unpacked into the dresser in the room she chose. Each bedroom had two beds, so it would be up to everyone to choose their room as they showed up. The food she had brought was placed in the fridge and freezer; but only after she had carefully scrubbed each crack. All of the boxed goods and canned foods were placed in a cabinet, leaving room for any of the food the others would be bringing. Her personal cleaning supplies had been placed under the sink until she realized how gross the bathroom looked. Once that had been cleaned, her anal germaphobe self insisted on gathering up all the bed sheets and she had begun to wash those as well. Now she stood, admiring the deep blue of the lake, with nothing left to clean except for herself.

Without a second thought, she turned her back to the lake and dashed inside. Straight to her room, her hands went right for the knobs of the top drawer in her dresser and fished out her black bikini. Seeing as she was the only one to arrive, she made no motion to shut the door to her room and stripped down to change. A childlike giddiness fueled her and her race back out to the deck. This was the most freedom she had had since starting college the year before and it was making every inch of her buzz. Toes curled around the edge of the deck and arms stretched high. A soft push and a curve of her back and she dove in. The cool water enveloped her and instantly refreshed her. Air filled her lungs with a rush when she reached the surface again. Everything was taking a turn for the better. Now to just wait for her friends to arrive.

Bobbing his head rather wildly to the beat blasting out of the car radio, Jackson's thumbs thumped sporadically on the steering wheel in an attempt to make a coherent beat. He was humming along, moving his torso to sway to the upbeat music. He wouldn't be surprised if the others were fearing for their lives at this point, but the boy had confidence in his driving skill, at the very least fast reflexes. On the bright side, they were not on a busy road, he didn't have to worry about staying completely focused save for the occasional vehicle passing by. "Are we supposed to be turning soon Koda?" The older sibling asked, glancing at his little brother in the passenger seat before turning back to the road and peering out for any indication that would make him turn onto a dirt turn off. He was only humming to the tunes now as he tried to focus on getting to their destination, they were close, he knew that much. He knew that if they didn't find their destination soon, everyone would start getting antsy, and that was not a good thing with four 'adult' men trapped in a car.

Behind him were two friends accompanying he and his brother along with six other friends on a trip to a cabin in the woods. To Jackson, it sounded like the perfect vacation. Sure, it was with his brother, but they got along well enough. In fact, out of the nine others, Koda was probably the only one he would genuinely trust with his life. Sure Jay was cool, but Jackson wasn't that stupid, everyone knew you could only trust the guy as far as you could throw him. And then there was Tae, their residential chicken. The twenty-two year old stole a glance at him through the mirror above. Sure he meant well, but... Let's just say he would definitely not readily put his life into the guy's hands.

When his eyes flickered to the left, he made out a familiar looking road. Just as he was about to speak, his phone buzzed, most likely someone from the group chat. "I think this road is it, and can you look who that was?" He directed his gaze to Koda again before making a harsh turn left. Inwardly he winced, knowing that he would undoubtedly hear a complaint from the back about his driving skill. With a sigh, his slowed the vehicle to a crawl as he tried to make the ride as smooth as possible. The radio began to get fuzzy so Jackson took the liberty of changing the channel on his own. He was flipping through before a familiar jam had just started. With the widest grin that would probably ever appear on his face, he turned the radio up full blast and started beating his hands on the wheel like drums. "Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me, I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed." With an excited gesture to his brother, the older sibling gave an expectant glance for him to continue with him. "She was looking kinda dumb with her finger and her thumb in the shape of an L on her forehead." He glanced up at the duo in the back, eyebrows lifted with a beyond delighted gaze, "I can't hear you two in the back!" Right after this, he lowered all four windows and turned the volume up as loud as he could, a definite echo now coming from his car and into the endless trees. "Here we go!" He shouted, slamming his hands consecutively a few more times before diving right into the chorus. This continued for the entirety of the song, Jackson not hesitating to become fully immersed into the rhythm.

Just as the song was approaching its final chorus, he was pulling up to the cabin, staring up at the building in awe. With a giddy smile, he waited for the song to finish before shutting the radio off and rolling the windows up. Pulling the key from the ignition and tucking his phone into his jeans, he easily stepped out of the car. Unsurprisingly, the male began whistling All Star while twirling his key chain around his index finger. In four and a half steps he was at the trunk, lifting it open for everyone to get their belongings. With a duffel bag slung over his shoulder, he started walking to the cabin, before hearing the splashing of water to his right. Swinging his head, he spotted a certain blonde wading in the lake water. "Hey there, pretty lady!" He shouted, cupping his hands around his mouth. Waving, he contemplated going over to catch up with Sage or heading inside to put his stuff down. As they were the same age, the two were in the same grade in high school as well, having multiple classes together. Jackson was quite fond of her, they didn't talk as much as he would have liked, but certainly would never complain to be in her company.
