Reinier Erckens & Cynthia Powell
- Who wants kids and how many?
xxx"Ten long years separate me from Cynthia; a gap which is already difficult to seal. I'd like to create a family with my love one day, however, it's already difficult for me to keep up with her. Our life is based on the group we have created during the years spent in London and, in a way, they are our children. If the situation was right, I'd like to have a pair of kids running around the mansion; it'd be nice for us to build a small, happy family. I'm afraid that it's impossible for now."
xxx"I was never a fan of kids. They're loud, obnoxious and irritating. My patience is already rather thin and having to take care of a parasite - even if it was my own - would be terrible. I'd honestly prefer having a pet or a couple of them."
Who looks the best in a tux/gown?
xxx"Honestly? We both look rather professional. I'm not a big fan of suits or attire like that, but certain situations demand us to look our best. I'd never tire of seeing Cynthia in a dress and watching her dance in my arms is simply heavenly."
xxx"I don't understand the appeal of wearing dresses. Even if my father's charity balls often call for me to appear lady-like. It was never enjoyable or anything good, but I got to see Reinier in his suits on a daily basis. I'll admit it; he looks good."
Who is the dog person and who is the cat person?
xxx"We're both more fond of dogs. Cats aren't really our enemies but I personally couldn't really see the appeal of owning a feline. Perhaps when we're both too elderly to take care of a dog or ourselves, we'll think of getting a cat for our home. But at the very moment, we're both raising quite a few wolfish dogs and planning to open a sanctuary for them sometime."
xxx"Cats aren't loyal animals. They don't care about their owners like dogs can. If I was in a threatening situation, I'm positive that my dogs would come to my rescue immediately. A cat would either not bother with moving from its spot or get kicked away by the intruder in a second. Maybe I'll change my mind about this, but I don't see myself owning a cat."
Who is the worst cook?
xxx"Cynthia. If that woman could finish making scrambled eggs without setting the whole kitchen on fire, I'd be very happy. I don't think I've ever seen her cook anything apart from making soup and that's only ever decent enough to actually eat. She does make great teas and cocktails when needed, so I can't really complain about everything, can I? But she's a bad cook."
xxx"It's me. I can't cook to save my life and anything more complicated than a sandwich is impossible for me. However, I can make tea pretty decently and I'm a master of the bar; my twin has taught me how to make good drinks and serve them."
Who made the first move?
xxx"I can't recall. We were both aware of our feelings for quite a while but neither of us chose to do anything regarding that issue. It feels like both of us started talking about it at the same time, hoping the other understood. And it worked out."
xxx"Reinier realised his feelings for me later than I did. It was a bad time to begin a relationship and neither of us wanted to get involved while people died around us. There was a moment of serenity when we both had the chance to sit down and talk about it. Others thought it was funny to look at us dancing around each other without ever saying anything. I have to agree."
Who is the worst liar?
xxx"I am. While there have been times of deceit in my life, I was never really proud of them. I'm an honest man and I value that I can be forward with other people. Cynthia, on the other hand, could lie about her own death without even blinking."
xxx"He is. I can't remember a day when he wasn't caught lying to someone else. Renier sucks at being dishonest with others."
Who would (or said) "I love you" first?
xxx"Actually, we both did. At the same time. Once the rain of bullets ended and the whole street was covered in shrapnel, I just blurted it out and realised she was laughing. Cynthia had done the very same thing and here we were, laying on the cold ground and bleeding from every inch of our bodies, chuckling at each other. I wouldn't change that memory for anything."
xxx"It took me almost dying to say my feelings aloud; I'm not an emotional person and even revealing my inner turmoil to Reinier was rather difficult. But I couldn't see him die without ever voicing how I felt and, sadly, he didn't let me make it into a dramatic moment. We both survived but I'm happier this way. I'd never repeat what I said on that fateful day, though."
Who hogs the blanket?
xxx"She does. I'm usually very tolerant when it comes to low temperatures so being left uncovered doesn't bother me."
xxx"I like feeling warm and safe, even if it's only a thing layer between myself and whatever may lurk outside. I've slept like this ever since I was a little girl and it's become a habit. I constantly freeze whenever there are no layers covering me in bed and it's quite annoying; Reinier doesn't seem to mind and we're both comfortable to sleep like this, thus I see no problems."
Who kills the spiders?
xxx"Neither of us do. It's not like Cynthia's afraid of them and I don't see a reason why they need to be killed. Poor spiders."
xxx"I just carry them outside or release the buggers through the window. I don't really care if there are spiders in my home."
Who is the responsible one?
xxx"I'd take that title. Cynthia is known to be rather impulsive when it comes to acting and while I believe that she's capable of keeping an eye on things and making good decisions, she's still rather young and doesn't know what to do every now and then. I've had quite a bit of experience when it comes to life and I know more than she does. It's not a secret that I care about other people more than she does. Many people choose to distance themselves from her because she's so instinctive."
xxx"Reinier is vulnerable because he cares too much about trivial things. I focus on what's important and can do mean and cruel things to achieve my goals. He tends to the sick and the injured while I fight. It works best for both of us, honestly."
Who gets jealous the easiest?
xxx"Cynthia is very quick to anger. It's not unusual for her to get suspicious when I begin hiding something and that usually ends in yelling at each other until we fight or argue. While I do cherish all of her, this trait can easily get rather annoying."
xxx"I do. It's a flaw but I'm not sure that it can be pushed away easily. I've never had alot of people stay by my side and the thought of losing such a close friend is devastating. People come and go in a life like mine, so it's only natural I cling to the dearest ones. It's not surprising that I choose to get jealous over someone like Reinier. He's the kindest person I know."
Who can wrap presents well?
xxx"I have very nimble fingers and I'm used to working with delicate things, being a healer. I've worked on the insides of a human being a lot of times and wrapping a present doesn't come anywhere near it. Cynthia's speciality isn't this, I'm afraid."
xxx"I can hotwire a car and build a gun from almost anything. Wrapping a present, however, isn't as easy as it sounds. I can manage a simple wrap and pretend that I ran out of time but I'm really not good at such things. I'm not a very creative girl."
Who is the most romantic?
xxx"Neither of us, honestly. I'm a rather reserved and introverted person who focused on treating other people and helping them get better. Cynthia isn't overly emotional or romantic, either. In a way, we simply tolerate each other's presence."
xxx"Definitely not me. I don't like showing romance publicly or hanging off of Reinier's arms and pretending that he's the light of my life. I'm a businesswoman and a gangster who doesn't have time to spend her day walking in the park or feeding birds. Reinier isn't the person for such things, either. We tolerate each other and it's fine like that. Everything's okay."
Who is more competitive?
xxx"Cynthia. Even when we were younger and her father asked me to train his kid, she was one of the fiercest people I've seen in my whole life. Nothing can keep her down for too long and she'd rather lose a limb and die instead of backing down from a challenge. It's mesmerizing to watch her fight or simply train inside of the base hidden beneath her family's home."
xxx"I am. Reinier is a rather passive man and he doesn't like to challenge other people into verbal battles or see if a person can be a real threat. I like competing with others and it makes the day a bit more interesting. He can stay lazy for all I care."
Who gets embarrassed easily?
xxx"We've experienced too much to become embarrassed by the words or actions of other people. Those days have passed."
xxx"Neither of us, honestly. If seeing a decapitated body doesn't make me flinch anymore, I doubt that a perverted joke or an inquiry into our intimacy rules in the bedroom would make either of us blush. If anything, you can make me red in the face by pissing me off and then not even Reinier can stop me. Embarrassment has become a foreign emotion to me long ago."
