- A Demon’s "Angel"
“Who are you?”
Demon to some. Angel to others.
It depends who you ask, how well someone knows me.
The angel in me is a figment to you, masking the truth behind the lies.
The lies of how innocence and purity manifest itself in my every breath.
If you know me well enough you’d know which side I stand;
only a demon could be in so much pain.
But the celestial beings feel sorry for themselves,
standing on a presumptuous platform
singing hymns of resentment for human nature,
portraying their own inner demons as peaceful ones—harmless.
But that’s the difference, you see;
a demon never claims to have once been an angel.
