Harbin's answers

    • 1. What is your character's name and how did they get it?
Harbin York Fischer. Fischer was his father's surname, so it was an immediate fit to his name. 'York' came from his mother's birthplace of New York, where she always dreamed of going back to. She thought fitting him with the name would cause her to love him more after a hard pregnancy. Harbin was just something that both of his parents liked, which was something of a miracle, as they rarely agreed on anything.

      2. How do they feel about their name?
Harbin likes his name. He's never felt like anyone else, so it fits.

      3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside?
A glass of water, a bottle of ibuprofen, whatever book he's reading at that moment, and some sort of half-eaten snack.

      4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why?
Harbin always imagined himself trekking through the mountains and somehow making a living out of it, or just living off the land and not bothering to keep money on him. That's sort of where he is. As close as he could be, at least. Harbin couldn't have dreamed of this life as a child, as it's an odd way to live, and he wouldn't have changed it for anything.

      5. How does your character feel about family functions and events?
There's not much of a chance anymore to have any feelings of family functions, unless you can't the Jeshi campfires he occasionally attends. As for those, he loves them dearly, and can often be found sitting close to the flames with a smile on his face.

      6. Does your character make friends easily?
It depends on the friend. Harbin is a quiet man and doesn't reveal his personality to most of the people he encounters. But he considers most people he meets friends, so it's not too terribly difficult.

      7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like?
Harbin was thirteen when he had his first kiss. It was memorable in the fact that he hated everything about it. It was sloppy, spitty, and gross. Laura seemed deeply offended that he hadn't enjoyed it as much as she had and tried to push him further. It ended with Harbin fleeing the girl's bathroom at a run and never looking back.

      8. How does your character display affection?
As friends, he shows affection by helping with problems, being an excellent listener and secret keeper, and doing pretty much anything that's asked of him.

      9. How does your character flirt with another?
      Harbin doesn't flirt.

      10. What is your character's least favorite food?
Sushi, or really any type of seafood.

      11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each.
Passive - Harbin has never shown any aggression toward anything. In fact, it's so hard to make him mad that a few people throughout his life made it their goal to do so, much to their dismay. He completely lets the world walk all over him, like a worn-out rug.
Desperate - Having had a mother who he could never do enough for, Harbin strives on a daily basis to find the acceptance he never found from her and tries his absolute darndest to go above and beyond for those around him in order to find the slightest of approval.
Peaceful - After years of therapy, Harbin knows himself well and can feel his own emotions early on, allowing them to move through him without any trouble, making him a stable guy.

      12. What is your character's greatest regret in life?
He couldn't bring his father with him to his current living situation, and he regrets that quite a bit.

      13. Does your character keep their promises?
      Always.

      14. What are some values your character holds?
Not everything needs to be said. Everyone is working through their own issues, so it's good to be kind to everyone. Patience never hurt anything.

      15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf?
Sort of a lone wolf, but mostly a follower. He has his own head on his shoulders, but if you asked Harbin to start up anything new, he wouldn't know what to do. However, he is an excellent backbone and could hold up the flimsiest of leaders.

Drew's answers

Tue Aug 14, 2018 8:57 pm

    • 1. What is your character's name and how did they get it?
Drew Dewitt is actually Drew Dewitt Jr., her middle name the only thing separating her and her father's names. Mackenzie was created from piecing together her grandmother's maiden named, Macintosh, and her great grandfather's first initial, Z.

      2. How do they feel about their name?
It's a bit manly for her liking, but hey, it's after her father, a man she loves, so it's all good.

      3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside?
Five hundred balled up plans, sixteen dirty, molding cups, five food-covered plates, and three soured bowls of old cereal milk. There's also an alarm clock under there somewhere, two journals full of ideas, and a full bottle of Adderall.

      4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why?
An inventor! Of course. Drew is always working toward that goal and has invented too many things to count, even if they are what most people call 'silly' inventions.

      5. How does your character feel about family functions and events?
There's better things to be done, like figure out how those cogs in her new watering system would fit together. In fact, even though she's physically at 'family' functions, her mind is always elsewhere.

      6. Does your character make friends easily?
It takes a special kind of person to get along with Drew, despite her friendliness.

      7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like?
Drew hasn't made time for romance.

      8. How does your character display affection?
Lots of hugs and overwhelming excitement.

      9. How does your character flirt with another?
Lots of desired but repressed hugs and overwhelming excitement.

      10. What is your character's least favorite food?
Oddly, oranges. They're not hard to avoid. Though she won't touch any citrus fruits.

      11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each.
Messy - Just ask anyone in Jeshi, and this is the first word they'll come up with, too. She leaves a trail of things wherever she goes, and her room smells like a fridge that broke two years ago that was stocked with a bunch of groceries.
Intelligent - Drew's mind is constantly working through twelve problems at once. Ask her just about anything, and she'll eventually come up with a solution, whether it's a difficult calculus problem or a moral dilemma.
Loud - Oh, so you're blind, have no sense of smell, and no sense of touch? No worries, you can still find Drew. All you have to do is listen. If it's not her overzealous voice bouncing off the walls that tells you where she is, then it's the sound of papers scrambling, things being thrown, or the fleeting sound of hard feet running to the next destination.

      12. What is your character's greatest regret in life?
Not telling her father she loved him every day.

      13. Does your character keep their promises?
Well, she does her best. If she hasn't, it's probably because she's forgotten about it, or maybe she had something better to do. To Drew, promises mean little.

      14. What are some values your characters hold?
Do what you can while you're alive - life is fleeting, and you won't get the chance after you're dead. Everyone is imperfect.

      15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf?
A chaotic cyclone of energy. Drew doesn't really fit in any category, preferring to do her own thing, but not in a leadership role, and certainly not by herself.

Emeric's answers

    • 1. What is your character's name and how did they get it?
The name "Emeric Easton" is the first and last time the man's parents were ever forced to compromise. Pronounced "ah-mer-eek" in his father's French tongue, the name was adapted to an American pronunciation ("em-er-rick") to fit his mother's simple tastes. Easton was another choice of his mother's since his dad insisted on passing down his last name to the boy.

      2. How do they feel about their name?
He's quite fond of it. Occasionally, when talking to himself, he uses the French pronunciation to spice things up.

      3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside?
Unfinished paperwork, a kindle containing poetry or classics, a suspiciously strong smelling coffee mug, an extra large bottle of hand sanitizer, and wet wipes.

      4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why?
Emeric never had the opportunity to daydream about career opportunities when he was a child. His place in Jeshi was set in stone. As a teenager, however, he and Joel wrestled with the idea of starting a business together, maybe a bar. It fizzled out pretty quickly. Now, he's doing what he always knew he would, maybe just not in the way he thought he'd be doing it.

      5. How does your character feel about family functions and events?
Before he was the Commander, they were a welcome time to goof off with Joel and get even more drunk than usual. Now, they're a maze of right and wrong things to say, mixed with attempts to keep up his unconvincing act of knowing what he's doing, and topped with yet another unconvincing act of being present in the moment.

      6. Does your character make friends easily?
He's never had to worry about making another friend before.

      7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like?
      It has yet to happen.

      8. How does your character display affection?
Vulnerability is the rawest form of affection. If Emeric falters, admits he's scared or uncertain, or even talks about the shit that's going through his mind, then there is someone very dear to him around,

      9. How does your character flirt with another?
He's not sure how to do that, and that this point, he's too afraid to ask.

      10. What is your character's least favorite food?
Bean sprouts, but he could still eat them if he had to.

      11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each.
Impulsive - Emeric is driven through life by his own impulses. Every decision, action, and sentence is extracted straight from his brain the moment it enters. So far, there haven't been many consequences besides some mild alcoholism, drug addiction, and an awful relationship with his parents.
Cowardly - He's afraid of everything. Some of the main offenders include death/dying, religion, morality, doing/saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, sexual contact, girls, taking his job seriously, not taking his job seriously... the list goes on and on. However, mixed with impulsivity, the reality of this trait never gets to see the light of day, since he does whatever pops into his mind first, anyways. However, internally, it haunts him.
Introspective - The man lives inside his own head. Joel was the only one who could really pull this from him, but with their communication dwindling, he's back within the recesses of his mind. It's a lonely place.

      12. What is your character's greatest regret in life?
Staying in Jeshi until it was too late to get out.

      13. Does your character keep their promises?
He doesn't make promises unless he's certain he can keep them.

      14. What are some values your characters hold?
Everything is up in the air now, but when he was a teen, he believed in the importance of friendship, physical fitness, and acceptance.

      15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf?
      All of the above.

      1. What is your character's name and how did they get it? Owen Lee Murphy. 2. How do they feel about their name? Indifferent. It's just his name, nothing special. 3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside? Besides a lamp and maybe a book, nothing at all. 4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why? Owen never knew what he wanted to do. He's switched jobs a couple times (from mechanic, to gas station manager, to mover) and seemed content before lock-up. He has never had the urge to do something more. 5. How does your character feel about family functions and events? Uncomfortable now, but he used to enjoy them. 6. Does your character make friends easily? Not really, but after a while he warms up. 7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like? Simple, sweet, and quiet. 8. How does your character display affection? Through care and protection. 9. How does your character flirt with another? He's became a bit awkward around women who he likes and it results in badly delivered charm, though his attempts seem to do the trick anyway, 10. What is your character's least favorite food? Hard to say. He's grown accustomed to eating whatever he's given since his only choice has been prison food for the past few years. 11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each. Controlled, observant, and driven. Owen doesn't let his emotions get the best of him and he's a tough nut to crack. He doesn't react strongly to attitude or hotheaded people, preferring to choose his battles wisely. Owen is quite the watchful type - he had to be on the inside. You never knew if you were the target that day in the yard. Given a task in a job he's passionate to, Owen will see it through. 12. What is your character's greatest regret in life? Owen has numerous regrets, naming one would be difficult. 13. Does your character keep their promises? He tries to, yes, but doesn't beat himself up over them if he can't. 14. What are some values your characters hold? Respect is something he learnt the hard way and will never forget. He's gained his own inside the walls, but feels a bit out of place in the real world where there are no rules and no expectancy to respect one another. 15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf? He has been all three throughout his lifetime, so he fluctuates.

Shep's answers

    • 1. What is your character's name and how did they get it?
Simply put, Shepherd's mother was a hippie. He has two sisters named Eve and Serenity. If there was a third, she would have been called River.

      2. How do they feel about their name?
He adores it, perhaps extra appreciative since he narrowly avoided being named "Phoenix Nix" due to his oldest sisters' intervention.

      3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside?
Candles galore, medical textbooks, medical essays, a timer for meditation, a leather journal, and an expensive pen in an expensive pen case.

      4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why?
He was the one kid who knew exactly what he wanted to be starting in kindergarten. No one, including teachers, doubted his ability to become some sort of doctor. Nowadays, he's doing what he wanted, more or less, with a little more emphasis on experimental treatment and medical research. Ideally, there would be a bit more surgery and diagnostics, but he doesn't receive many patients.

      5. How does your character feel about family functions and events?
He loves them. Any place he can showcase his charm and wit.

      6. Does your character make friends easily?
Absolutely. When someone doesn't like Shep, it's because they dislike how likable he is.

      7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like?
He's had a few different firsts. His first time with a female was with a close high school friend (he couldn't get hard), His first time with a male was through a dating website (he couldn't get hard). His first time with a non-binary person was at a music festival (he couldn't get hard). Each encounter was highly orchestrated by the other individual, the first and last, and over within ten minutes or less.

      8. How does your character display affection?
Interest in one's hobbies and endeavors, light touches on the shoulder and back, endless warmth, genuine concern, small compliments, and copious amounts of encouragement available whenever needed.

      9. How does your character flirt with another?
      Accidentally.

      10. What is your character's least favorite food?
Red meat, mostly for health reasons.

      11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each.
Gifted - Needless to say, he has many talents. He's extremely intelligent, physically fit, well-spoken, socially aware, and naturally gifted in a jumble of random sports and hobbies. Although he's had to work to achieve some things, the path to perfection has always come with relative ease.
Confident - Shepherd is comfortable in his own skin and can only remember a small stretch of time when he wasn't. The awkward one to two year period occurred right after he learned to shift and was finding his place in his school and family. By the time high school came around, however, he pretty much reverted back to his elementary cockiness with just a tad bit more wisdom. He's only aged more finely from there.
Straightforward - The Medic is very forthcoming with any information. He often chooses not to sugarcoat bad news just because he doesn't feel like it. It's stirred up more than a few arguments in the past.

      12. What is your character's greatest regret in life?
      It has yet to come.

      13. Does your character keep their promises?
If he thinks they're important, sure.

      14. What are some values your characters hold?
Here is what Shep strives for in life: satisfaction, close relationships, good-smelling candles, meditation, and writing worth reading.

      15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf?
Leader, mostly, but he'll follow along.

      xx.
      1. What is your character's name and how did they get it? Shane Michael Walker. His middle name came from his father, his first was just something his mother liked. 2. How do they feel about their name? He feels a bit of pride in it. Being named after his father and blessed with being apart of the Walker family in general. 3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside? Before, he kept things like his prescriptions or the books his wife read for her to pick up later. A few years after, it was pictures of his deceased family, some letters and drawings too. Now, it's his Glock and nothing else. 4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why? Shane always knew he wanted to enlist, and did once he graduated High School. He stayed in the United States Marine Corps from 1994 to 2007, only retiring because of his wife wanting him home. Unable to live without something to do, he joined the police force in Chatham County, Georgia which was his current occupation. 5. How does your character feel about family functions and events? Loves them. He is a huge family man and loves getting his folk together for a cookout. 6. Does your character make friends easily? It's half and half, depending on who you are. He can make friends just as fast as enemies. 7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like? Shane has always been sort of a charmer but when it came to Amy, his future wife, he stuttered and became a complete fool. Doing anything to impress her or grab her attention, doing daredevilish stunts or working his ass off on the football field during games. It wasn't anything like that, that caught her attention, though. A failing math student and a straight A colleague was all that needed to be paired together after school for her to see Shane's driven potential to master anything he sat his mind to (even if it did take some convincing that math would be useful on the battlefield). They fell for each other then and never looked back. 8. How does your character display affection? He's a big romantic, though traditional in his ways. Shane loves physcial affection and makes his adoration obvious. 9. How does your character flirt with another? Oh man, he's very obvious about it and doesn't hold any shame for it either. Shane is a huuuge flirt and if you give in once, it takes real willpower to keep his hands off of you. 10. What is your character's least favorite food? As someone who loves food almost as much as guns, he's not a big fan of shrimp. One bad alcohol-induced night really turns you away from some stuff. 11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each. Assertive: Shane has a tendency to set his mind one way and stick with it. He's very outspoken about the way things should go, often resulting in conflict with others. Tenacious: Like the previous, once Shane is doing something, he seeks it through. He's not the man to back down easily which makes him quite stubborn, something his girlfriend knows well. Resourceful: If it's anything his time in the USMC has shown him, it's how to be resourceful with the things you are presented with. It's saved his life - and others - on mutiple occasions. 12. What is your character's greatest regret in life? Leaving for work one night when he knew he should've stayed. 13. Does your character keep their promises? Tries his damnest to. 14. What are some values your characters hold? Honesty, loyalty, and efficiency. 15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf? Definitely a leader at heart, but can be a follower if he trusts who's in the position of power, and could also be a lone wolf if that is what he needs to become.

    • 1. What is your character's name and how did they get it?
ravenya's mother knew that 'ravenya' was an awful name - but did it anyway. she earned the horrendous title thanks to the band her mother found her only happiness with. after running away from home, lily conway (ray's mother) didn't have much except the strings of her guitar and later, the man that invited her to join his ragtag group of friends. they called themselves 'dear ravenya'. in honor of those people, lily named her first born child after some of the only pleasant memories she had. her middle name, victoria, is lily's own middle name. she was born as ravenya conway, but after her mother passed away ravenya's last name was legally changed to 'nicchi' that of her mother's lover, Isavel, and adoptive mother.

      2. How do they feel about their name?
she absolutely hates it. she much prefers to go by 'ray', which isn't as bad. her cousin and best friend, constance, is not too keen to let her forget how ridiculous it is.
      \
      3. What items does your character keep next to their bedside?
a picture of her mother - face down, so she doesn't have to see it unless she wants to. her car keys so she doesn't misplace them again. probably an unfinished glass of brandy.

      4. What did your character want to be when they were younger? Are they doing that or working towards it? If not, why?
ravenya has always had the need to save people. since her mother's death, a shadow of anger and guilt has festered over her head. ray tries to fill that hole with her work: medicine. at a very young age she started with nursing and worked her way into the surgical field. in her current story arch, as present time, she is the chief of surgery: but that still is not enough. It never will be.

      5. How does your character feel about family functions and events?
ravenya's family is an odd thing. they love her, of course. how could they not? but she is no stranger to their wary regard. they've always had their heads turned toward her in a cautious way. even Isavel, her adoptive mother, seems to get a little nervous at times when ravenya mentions certain concerning matters. they view her as a time bomb - one day, ray will implode and become like her mother. though she's made it clear that she's vowed never to become like lily, you can't fight dna.

      6. Does your character make friends easily?
      ahaha. ... no.

      7. What was your character's first romantic encounter like?
her first kiss was from a guy named teo - which was spent with her standing with her eyes wide opened and her body completely frozen solid. she came across real love, however, when she met eisley - a blind scottish woman that transferred to her primary school. their romance was drawn out and very rocky. neither of them knew what the hell they were doing - until they were kissing one another in the middle of the woods after ravenya's car broke down. they were married shortly after ray went on to uni.

      8. How does your character display affection?
mostly by walking into the room and dropping a random present in front of someone and walking right the hell back out the door.

      9. How does your character flirt with another?
ray communicates mostly with her eyes. she's never been a talkative person (she was born deaf, therefore, does not like the way her voice sounds). touch is her most useful asset when she's trying to convey her desire for romance.

      10. What is your character's least favorite food?
tomatoes. Isavel shoved them down her throat when she was a child and she cannot stand them. too slimy. yuck

      11. Describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each.
      Afflicted. Unsteady. Damaged.
Afflicted - everything and anything is personal to ravenya. its an awful trait of hers. she takes her patients cases' to heart. she pushes herself past her limits. she has never really learned to think for herself - to be selfish when needed.
Unsteady - ray has never walked on even ground. she is always walking on a teetering fence or a tight rope that's not secure. still, she walks right across it, uncaring if she makes it to the other side alive and unscathed. her mental state is basically a blender full of broken glass. even after the grinding is over, you'll still cut your hands.
Damaged - ray is very brittle and bruised. she blames herself for many things that could not be helped or were very much out of her hands and control.

      12. What is your character's greatest regret in life?
not following her mother out to the barn, where, minutes later, she overdosed and passed away. ray believes that she could have saved her

      13. Does your character keep their promises?
yes. a pinkie-promise is the most sacred thing in life in her opinion

      14. What are some values your characters hold?
trying until you cannot do so anymore. she took an oath as a doctor and takes that very seriously. she believes that children deserve everything possible. she holds value on music and the stories they tell.

      15. Is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf?
it depends! concerning her family, she is very much a lone wolf. she tends to stay in the back during family occasions and is usually seen, rather than heard. she welcomes them into her home (she has the largest of all of them, so its ideal for gathering together), but tends to let them make the decisions and gives them control. she's rather estranged from them - unless constance pops by. around her cousin, ray lightens up a little and will engage in conversation with others if constance is nearby. if the wavy haired wildcard is nowhere in sight? forget it.
at work, however, ray is the leader of the pack. being the chief means that she is in charge of everything that goes on there. later in her career as chief, she purchases the hospital. she changes the name to 'victoria memorial hospital' in memory of her mother. before her illness takes her control and capability away, ray changes the way the hospital works and how it handles its patients, paving a new road for healthcare all over London.

              • 1. what is you name and how did you get it?
“i received my name for my parents. it’s just a slight twist on the spelling of a common name. it’s nothing super special. i don’t really know where it came from. i never really asked my parents about it before i left home, but i assume it was because they like the southern vibe of it.”
                2. how do they feel about your name?
“i really like my name. i think it’s really funny because i grew up in oklahoma and ended up moving to new york city and now i’m living in brooklyn. i think it was just destiny.”
                3. what items does you keep next to your bedside?
“i have my phone, chapstick, and a book on my nightstand. i try to keep it to just that most of the time, but when it gets super busy with mid-terms and exams, i have my notes and textbooks near by.”
                4. what did you want to be when you were younger? are you doing that or working towards it? if not, why?
“i really didn’t know what i wanted to be when i was younger. i just knew i didn’t want to stay in oklahoma. i’m going to college in new york city, but i don’t really have a major picked out, but i’m interesting in photography and videography. but, i guess i can work towards that soon.”
                5. how does you feel about family functions and events?
“i love spending time with my family. my family isn’t one of those stereotypical ‘redneck’ families where the dad is a drunk, the mom is the traditional housewife, and the kids are… yeah. my family is so amazing and we almost never fight, and family events were always so fun, especially when they were on my family’s farm.”
                6. do you make friends easily?
“it’s probably my southern hospitality, but i get along with anyone. i like meeting new people and making new friends. i don’t know why, but it’s almost second nature to me.”
                7. what was your first romantic encounter like?
“i actually have never had a romantic encounter. i’ve never been kissed, or had an intimate relationship with anyone. but, i am on my way towards a long relationship with a god, so we’ll see where that goes.”
                8. how do you display affection?
“my affection usually is displayed in words. i catch myself saying small things, ‘text me when you get home’, or ‘be careful crossing the street’. i also like to give a lot of hugs and handholding and just small physical contact like a hand on the small of someone’s back, or arms around someone’s shoulders. i’m not so much into saying ‘i love you,’ especially in the beginning of a relationship. it just seems like a giant step that i think needs to happen later in the relationship. if i do say ‘i love you’, it’s a serious relationship and i’m ready to take that relationship to the next level. it’s a trust thing for me. me saying ‘i love you’ is me giving the other person all of my trust. it’s important to me.”
                9. how do you flirt with others?
“flirting? i am not very familiar with that. i’ve never really been in a situation where i was comfortable with flirting. i was born and raised on a farm. i went to school where everyone was a child of a farmer. i was never really attracted to anyone on a farm, mostly because my dad’s a farmer and i thought that was weird, so i never really flirted with anyone because it felt wrong to me.”
                10. what is your least favorite food?
“my least favorite food is corn. i know it sounds weird, but growing up, we always had corn at every meal. it’s not that i don’t like it. it’s that i’ve had it all of my life and i just grew tired of it and now i won’t eat it if i can help it.”
                11. describe yourself in three words and explain why you chose each.
“i would definitely describe myself as sweet, thoughtful, and i guess… happy. it probably sounds really silly, but i am super sweet. i love helping people and going out of my way to make someone’s day. i don’t know why i describe myself as thoughtful, but i just like thinking about situations and quotes and analyzing things. my friends always make fun of me for quoting books and philosophers and famous people. happy is so generic, but it’s true. i am happy. i always have a smile on my face and i thoroughly enjoy life and i feel so happy.”
                12. what is your greatest regret in life?
“my biggest regret? i can’t think of anything. every decision i made was for the best and i love the way everything turned out.”
                13. do you keep your promises?
“i do keep my promises. it builds trust. i never want to break someone’s trust. promises are meant to be kept and i will keep them no matter what, even if it hurts the person i made it with.”
                14. what are some values you hold?
“i hold honesty very close. every relationship needs honesty in order to work. a relationship built on lies is destined to fail. if i ask for an opinion, i want an honest answer. i‘d much rather be hurt by the truth than hurt when i find out that someone lied to me. i hate lies so much that i break off relationships. it doesn’t matter if we’ve known each other for years and years, if you lie to me, count me out.”
                15. are you a leader, follower, or lone wolf?
“anyone who knows me knows i’m a follower. i hate being in charge and i definitely need to be surrounded by people.”

ORIGINALLY FROM: THE KILLING DAYS
            • one. what is your character's name and how did they get it? myka hannah jae. to her knowledge, there's nothing behind the way she got any of it. before her divorce in 2011, her last name had changed to washington. two. how do they feel about their name? she doesn't see a problem with it. back in the day as a teenager she had one of those phases of hating it, but now she's proud to carry it. especially when her boyfriend says it fully just to taunt or persuade her. three. what items does your character keep next to their bedside? she's a woman, so always more than what's necessary. romance novels mixed with the occasional cook book or home design, a coffee mug, taken off jewelry, and the list could go on. the only important piece being her holstered pistol she takes off her belt at night. 4. what did your character want to be when they were younger? are they doing that or working towards it? if not, why? raised up in the 'hood', the ghetto, whatever you want to call her shady spot of detroit, myka wasn't given the opportunity the other kids were. it wasn't doing nothing to dream big and everyone made sure she understand that. all myka knew for certain was that she'd be a mother and wife and that's exactly what happened. while she mastered mathematics so many times better than any in her class, the subject was never taken up for an occupation which stuck her with any ordinary job. before the world took a nose dive, she was working at a car dealership and while it wasn't her dream job, it did pay the bills. five. how does your character feel about family functions and events? she loves them, wholeheartedly. myka adores big families and getting together, and used to cook in preparation of summer get-togethers days ahead. even with the group, once strangers now made family, she'll happily go all out to make the best out of what they have. six. does your character make friends easily? extremely so. ever bone in her body is mothering and she'll take any and every person under her wing that she can. there's a side of her that feels it's her job to protect the ones who can't protect themselves. seven. what was your character's first romantic encounter like? jared washinginton was a charmer back when she first met him. he was just a college kid that'd moved into her area and had a liking for the fast food place she was working at the time. little did she know he'd make her future husband. being the biggest flirt, he'd ask her every time he came in if she'd marry him and be his. every time, she'd brush it off as the joke it was. until he brought her flowers, then things changed. eight. how does your character display affection? physically, and through acts. she likes to do things that show her love, like making a special breakfast or dinner, or going out of her way to do a chore of some kind she knows the someone she cares for doesn't want to do. nine. how does your character flirt with another? by teasing and being sassy, only because she knows her boyfriend can take what she dishes out. ten. what is your character's least favorite food? any time of chinese food. she binged on it during her first pregnancy and remembering the nausea in those nine months, can't stand to eat it now. eleven. describe your character in three words and explain why you chose each. motherly - she literally acts as the mother to each and every person she comes across. whether it's her physically taking care of you when you're sick, or being the emotional support you need, she'll always be there to pick up the pieces. strong - while she is submissive to certain people and a follower in most ways, myka is just as equally strong. defiant, even. she'll hold to her word and if she thinks something is wrong she won't hesitate to make it right. in most cases she knows her place but there isn't room for bullying in her neighborhood. as a mature adult who has taken her fair share of crap, she's learned how to stand firm. sassy - but in a good way. flirty like, and playful. her attitude doesn't come off as annoying but more humorous and light-hearted. twelve. what is your character's greatest regret in life? marrying young and dumb to her ex-husband, jared, who she had to raise a son with in the midst of their financial and marriage struggles. thirteen. does your character keep their promises? she makes more promises than she may be able to keep, but there's a side of her that's determined to always see what she says through. fourteen. what are some values your characters hold? honesty, primarily. trust and kindness just as well. fifteen. is your character a leader, follower, or lone wolf? a leader in her own way, though she often stays in the role of a follower.

Aiden & Nathan Collins || Guns and Love || Triggers: Gun shots, dead bodies
1,060 words
    • They were in an odd position to be in, nobody was going to lie about that. The twins glanced at one another, before their gaze turned down to the body laying at their feet. Bullets had been flying all through the warehouse and now they were here to pick up the pieces. This internal war was insane, Steve’s side rioting against Dan’s. Aiden and Nathan were pretty much in the clear. Their medical abilities made them like Switzerland. But that didn’t mean they had to exactly like it.

Normally Nathan was the emotional guy, but this time around it was Aiden who felt his breathing hitch in his throat. He crouched down next to the lifeless body of one of his closests friends. His chest was riddled with bullets and it made Aiden so damn angry. “It’s so damn unfair. Peter didn’t even do anything.” Aiden breathed out, fighting back the tears while Nathan was patting his shoulder. “None of us wished for this. It just got out of control.” Nathan said, helping Aiden to get the body off the floor and out of the warehouse. It was a dirty job, but they were unable to leave their brothers here. Even if they had stood straight across one another.

“You know that Dan does not want to use violence, right? The only reason this happened was because Steve started it.” Nathan started after a moment, causing for Aiden to take a glance towards Nathan. “What are you talking about, Nate?”

“Eventually they will come for us. This war is bound to end in a division and they will expect us to pick sides.”
“We’re Switzerland. We don’t take sides.” Aiden argued. It caused for Nathan to huff, raising his brown eyes to watch his brother as it was a sort of funny how Aiden failed to be rational now that their friends were scattered across sides. “We are Switzerland now. Are you still Switzerland when Steve is holding a gun against my head?”

Aiden remained silent, simply glancing at Nathan before his gaze casted downwards. There was a glimpse of guilt hidden behind the brown orbs of the older medic. The twins were strong together but their strength was also their weakness. They would die for another in a heartbeat. “Exactly. We need to prepare. Pick a side or get out of this hellhole before we get ourselves killed.”

“As if you are capable of leaving.” Aiden huffed, glancing down at the switchblade he was holding in his hands, the encapsulated blade moving around between his fingers. “Don’t ask me to pick a side, Nate.” Aiden knew that Nathan’s mind was already made up. There was a side he had picked and Aiden hadn’t realized it had happened so long ago already. He was foolish for not noticing. “I’m tired of burying our friends, Aiden. I don’t want to stay at Ste-”
“Don’t act as if Dan and the Birdies are saints. Don’t.” Aiden hissed, glaring at his twin. “Nobody around here is a saint. We are all sinners.”

“I am aware. But you know I will follow my heart.” Nathan said, watching his brother and slowly reaching out his hand. “I am aware that all of your friends fight on Steve’s side. But look at this. This has to stop, Aiden. This is a bloodshed between generals and neither of them feels bad about sacrificing pawns. I’d rather side with the defensive as the offending team.”

“What about our friends? What about Brad? You think Brad is going to come with you?” Aiden said, his eyes never leaving his brother’s face. He noticed how Nathan seemingly grew sad, a sigh leaving his lips before he shook his head. “Brad won’t come with me.” Nathan murmured, glancing down at the bruises on his wrists. “It will be just you and me.”

      “Like the old times?”
“Just like the old times.” Nathan confirmed, noticing how his brother was doubting. It was a lot to ask, as the guys were never to take sides. But honestly? Steve was a dick. Just like Brad and Ryan and all other people in Steve’s posse. “We will just position ourselves like we will have to to survive.”

“You will?” A voice spoke up from behind them, causing for the twins to turn around and come face to face with one of Steve’s dick sucking guys. “Martin…” Aiden started, noticing the man was raising a gun towards the two of them. “Martin, We’re friends.” Aiden said, his words sincere as they had been friends for quite some time. “Yes, we are. Which is why I am doing you a favor.” Martin said, aiming the gun at Nathan’s shoulder and firing without any hesitation. Aiden was just in time to pull his brother away from the crossfire, the twins falling on the floor while Martin aimed at them again.

Aiden was fast to pull his own gun out, reaching up and aiming at Martin’s chest. He wished he didn’t have to do it, his hands quavering while Martin fired another shot. It landed in Nate’s shoe, causing for the younger twin to scream out from pain. That was all Aiden needed, pulling the trigger and effectively ending Martin’s life. His heart was pounding rapidly as he saw his friend fall on the floor, the man shutting his eyes as a sob escaped from his lips. He didn’t want this. Neither of them wanted this.

Forcing away his own sadness, the male turned to his twin and was quick to pull off Nathan’s shoe. The bullet was half inside Nate’s foot, but it didn’t seem too bad. He was swiftly pulling it out, before scooping Nathan up in his arms. “You’re right. That’s it. I’m not going to allow anyone to hurt you. Not any more.” He shook his head, realizing that Nathan was right. They had pretended to be Switzerland for too long in this fight. It had been naive to think they had been able to avoid the storm of bullets. If anything, they had been trapped in the eye of the storm. And even if Aiden and his friends were from the offense, the man would leave them behind in a heartbeat if that meant keeping Nathan safe. His twin was his world. No way he would give up on Nathan because of some dicks.
