- What is your Myers–Briggs personality type? Do you feel it does you justice? According to this website, I'm an INFP-T, also known as the Mediator. In short, they're diplomats who strive for constant improvement. People of such characteristics are described to be true idealists, always searching for the good in other people. And I truly relate to these words; a lot of my friends know that I'm always busy re-coding or rewriting the stuff I put on AS and how I always nag about things not being perfect. I'm also very shy in real life but I'm still often trying to resolve issues and keep both sides happy; I did that a lot of times on AS, too. I have a very strong relationship with my beliefs and values, so I think my type really fits me as a person.
Is there a song that you can relate to as the years pass? Why so? Oh, this is a difficult one. If it's a song that I still appreciate ever since my childhood, it would definitely be Break by Three Days Grace. Even after many years passed, it's more or less of an anthem in regards to my battle with depression and self-esteem issues, as well as my habit of isolating myself from people. Even if life is quite shitty, I tend to try and take myself to a higher place or to crawl out from the depths of whatever depressing pit I might be stuck in. This song reminds me not to get attached to the wrong people.
Do you have any odd quirks that are more funny than repulsive? I had to ask my boyfriend of two years to help me answer this question because I have no idea quirks I have in general. In his words, I tend to get super excited about ridiculous things, e.g. dogs, Eurovision, Harry Potter, etc., and while I'm not sure if that's a quirk, I really do tend to get hyper at times. He also said I'm unpredictable in a good way, a.k.a. tend to come up with weird ideas for activities or something else. My friends also said that I have a resting bitch face when I'm irritated that's more amusing than scary.
What is something that people always say to you but you don't believe? I don't really believe in praise or compliments in general. But the biggest issues are usually associated with my weight, I guess? It does make me feel nice when someone says I look thinner/healthier, but when I'm looking at myself in the mirror, it never sinks in. I appreciate the person going as far as to compliment me, but I never really believe them fully.
Is there a particular setting/trope that you absolutely love writing? At the moment, my two favourite tropes are soulmates and one fictional disease called Hanahaki. I haven't found a lot of people willing to write about the second trope with me just yet, but I'm not losing hope that one day, that fated partner will come. As for other tropes, I'm keen on assassinations as they usually have the right amount of drama and violence in them. ♥
If you were to be an animal which would it be? I'd probably be an owl? Like, I'm not really wise or clever as these birds are portrayed to be, but some of my attributes connect with the symbolism of an owl; I usually see through lies and deceit of others and few people can manipulate me. I have a strong sense of intuition that's rarely wrong about things. Other things that connect me with owls is that I also don't sleep much at night, usually work better when it's dark and quiet and am a loner. The owl is sometimes seen as a protector and I'm definitely the angry guardian of my friends.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you choose? I'd love to visit Yellowstone. I think it started out as a joke back when I used to be a little kid and played Wolf Quest, but I'd love to visit that park. But I'm also a nature-lover in general, so any regional park would do well.
Do you take influence from the world around you? It depends on the world. I try not to get influenced by other people or my surroundings, but it tends to happen from time to time. I often rely on the judgment of others and tend to follow my friends when serious conflict arises, but if I truly disagree with them, I'll put my foot down. I don't go with the crowd when people are whining about trivial or unimportant things and that sometimes leads to me being fairly blunt and insulting people, even if that's not what I'm after. If anything, I only let the nature around me influence my writing.
What’s your proudest writing achievement? Oh, I don't really know. It's either getting into law school and making my dad proud of me or writing my first novel back in 2017. Apart from that, I haven't really made anything big in my life and I doubt I will do anything like that anytime soon.
Do you sometimes resurrect old characters? Definitely! They usually come with different faces and new attitudes, but the original links remain the same. I've resurrected some old characters over the time I've spent on AS and I'm always up to using them - most of my animal characters are very old and dusty from lack of use, but they're still there and I love them a lot. I don't really like creating a character for one story and nothing else.
When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be an archaeologist. I have very steady hands as well as a love for ancient history, specifically the one that revolves around dinosaurs, old fossils, etc. Sometimes I regret not doing what I dreamed of because I'm still interested in those things, but have to sit near my books and try to learn how to help people with their issues. Maybe once I'm old and retired.
What are some hobbies you enjoy doing? I'm not an entirely active person, but I like taking walks in forests. I'm also keen on creative writing, reading and playing video games. Some of my odd hobbies include watching documentaries about serial killers, natural disasters, unsolved murder mysteries and anything similar. I used to love dancing and doing simple gymnastics, but ever since my weight has become a problem, I refuse to do that.
What is one thing you recommend someone doing at least once in their life? Release your inhibitions. Get drunk to the point where you can't stand, get into a fight and come home with a bleeding lip, skip school for a few days and do whatever. We're brought up in a society of rules where everyone's expected to be good people and follow a code that our elders thought of. If such things don't go against your personal moral code, do them! As a kid, I used to have a good friend who did karate - whenever we met up, we'd spar somewhere away from home and while I got my ass kicked, it was the best time of my life. Just let go and follow your instincts for a little bit and turn off your brain. It's healthy to just be a wild animal sometimes.
What is a piece of advice you would give to another from your own experience? It's better to do things poorly than not doing them at all. Not one of us is perfect and that's alright. It's fine not to have enough energy to shower, get breakfast and do your makeup in the morning. Washing your face is better than not taking a shower, Going out to the balcony is better than not going outside at all, drinking tea with sugar is better than not eating for the whole day. Focus on your own pace and you will succeed. And if anyone tells you otherwise, you're free to not have enough energy to care.
What is your family background? All of the people in my family are Caucasian and our ethnical background mainly consists of Lithuanian and Polish heritage. I suppose that we're a middle-class family but it's not something that people brag about where I live. My immediate family isn't too big; just my parents, my older sister, and me. I have two grandparents who are still alive, as well as two aunts from my dad's side. In regards to education, a large part of my family consists of lawyers and economists who have an affinity for literature. They have a Master's degree in their respective fields and my grandfather has a PhD. Our inner circle is very protective of each other and we're generally people with a strong moral compass, standing up for those weaker or less socially accepted. While my grandparents and aunts tend to lean towards religion, my family isn't overly religious and we don't worship any deity. I have a deep interest and respect towards Pagan gods, but that's about it. We all also have a dark sense of humour, both because 75% of my inner family specialises in criminal justice and also because Lithuanian. Every single member of the family also speaks in three languages or more. I guess most of us also tend to lean towards a more philosophical outlook of life, but that just makes us more quirky and amusing.
