- xxx1. Who wakes up first on Christmas morning?
Now, he won't like to admit it, but Erik does. Their first Christmas together, in what would become Xavier's school for gifted youngsters, was something else. Erik never really got to experience Christmas, so he was rather amazed with how special it was to the other mutants around him. But, whenever they have the peace to do Christmas, he definitely wakes up first, secretly too excited to go back to sleep. He'll sit in bed or go out and sit by the fire place and wait until Luisa and the other mutants are awake. But, after the group splits, he's still the first one to wake up, however, he's much less enthused. He'll wake up with the same sort of childlike excitement, ready to see the reactions of Charles and Camila alike, but they aren't there anymore. He'll be a lot more somber then, sitting by the fire with a cup of coffee and wait for Luisa to wake up so they can enjoy one day out of the year with one another, without anything to worry about.
xxx2. Who snuggles up to who on cold December nights?
Neither of them are too comfortable with PDA, however, on cold, silent nights when everyone else is asleep in the mansion, the two are probably found cuddling one another on the couch by the fire. They're both night owls by definition, so usually the two are awake at odd hours of the night, usually just talking or trying to pass the time before either of them get tired. But, the night usually ends with Erik coaxing her to join him on his side of the couch, or an arm chair. She definitely snuggles up to him, and he certainly doesn't complain about it.
xxx3. Who sings loudly along to Christmas songs, and who quietly mumbles along?
Both of them are pretty shy and reserved, and a bit unwilling to sing so loudly. However, Erik would sing as loud as he could, to his heart's content, of course, only to irk and tease her, all with the goal of getting her to join along, even if she does mumble quietly. However, Luisa's a bit more musically inclined, so if anything, she'd be the one playing a tune on her guitar as the rest of the group sang along.
xxx4. Who loves the snow, and who hates it? Or do they both love it?
Luisa absolutely adores the snow. She loves anything and everything about winter itself. In the snow, she's basically an over sized, over excited puppy. On the other hand, though, Erik is a bit indifferent to the snow. He doesn't hate it, but he doesn't exactly love it, either. The snow makes him feel a bit trapped, though, as he can't always see all the metal, his protection, around him, even if he knows it's there, or can feel it. But, he does love seeing Luisa get all excited when snow starts to stick, so, it's alright with him. He'll fight against global warming. For now.
xxx5. Do they kiss under the mistletoe?
No, they don't. As mentioned prior, they're a bit shy when it comes to things like that. However, if they so happen to stand under one that Erik notices, the moment they're alone, he'll tease her about it. He thinks it's sort of stupid, for it's really not that romantic to stand under a dying plant, but he enjoys making a bit of fun out of it, and making up for lost time by stealing a kiss and making up for it -- alone, anyways.
xxx6. Do they curl up with Hot Chocolate on frosty evenings?
Definitely. Since they're up all odd hours of the night regardless, Erik will usually meet her in the common room with cups of hot chocolate, tea, or coffee. Whatever they're feeling that night. Though, the pair would start to opt for Hot Chocolate the closer it got to Christmas, mainly because Erik would proclaim that they'd have to be festive, albeit sounding like a joke. However, the man just wants to make up for lost time. He never got a good Christmas with his family, so he wants to make sure Luisa has a good one.
xxx7. What presents do they get each other?
Erik is a bit easier to please than Luisa, or so he thinks, anyways. The man would be happy with anything, a shirt, a sweater, some socks, anything. He's a bit more stubborn when it comes to what to get her. He wants to buy her whatever she needs, whatever could be useful for her. The two aren't exactly materialistic, and find no need to buy each other presents like expensive watches or necklaces. Sentimental value is far more important. So, they usually get each other simple things. For example, one Christmas, Erik 'learned' how to fix and restring her guitar, after he'd accidentally broken the strings. He would've gotten her a whole new one if he figured out what kind to get, though perhaps he'd save it for another Christmas. Or the time Luisa surprised him by learning a couple common, German Christmas songs to perform on her guitar.
xxx8. Who falls flat on their face ice skating, and who is graceful?
Luisa is definitely a ways more graceful than Erik is. He'd never really gone ice skating before they'd attempted it, so he definitely miserably failed at first and took a few scrapes. Hell, he'd probably fall even as he'd gotten the hang of things, too. But, Luisa's mutation gives her a bit of an advantage, she's always graceful and light on her feet, so it came to her much easier than it did to the other mutant. However, Erik has a bit of a step up on her, too. He'd, lovingly, mind you, mess with her by bending the blade of her ice skate. She wouldn't hurt herself, no, as he wouldn't risk it, but it'd be all in good fun. Something to laugh at while the two instantly get revenge on one another and start a snowball fight.
xxx9. Do they cook a Christmas dinner, or do they order a takeaway?
They cook. It'd be a bit of a group effort with the other mutants, like Camila, Charles, Hank and Raven, but they would all do their part to make a good Christmas with one another. Erik would take it upon himself to make sure that everyone had their own little 'stations'. He'd be in charge of the potato salad and stuffing. Luisa would be in charge of the panettone and pandoro. They'd all incorporate little foods from their heritage, though Luisa and Erik would both be responsible for American classics like mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc.
xxx10. Do they go sledding? Who is ridiculously fast, and who is sensible?
They really wouldn't go out of their way to go sledding. Luisa suggested it once, and Erik agreed. Of course, the only time they'd done it, Erik went way too fast and nearly killed himself. They're both a bit competitive by nature, so after agreeing that they'd race each other down a hill. Erik totally didn't cheat with his metal toboggan, either. However, if it hadn't been for Luisa having some damn common sense and a quick eye, Erik probably would've gotten himself crushed by a tree, or something stupid like that, anyways. He definitely got his ass handed to him after that, too.
xxx11. How early do they put up their Christmas tree, and do they have fun doing it?
Being a bit excited at the idea of a Christmas as a happily family, definitely the day after Thanksgiving. It was a community effort with all the other mutants, though they'd all have a ton of fun decorating a real tree, and making new memories by putting all the ornaments up. Luisa would be the one to put the star on top, no exceptions. It's tradition, and Erik won't let that part die, even if they group is separated at Christmas time.
xxx12. Who goes out into the cold dressed warm, and who goes out dressed for style?
As it was stated, Luisa is definitely more sensible. She dresses up warmly, albeit cute and fashionably, but she also takes into account just how cold it really will be. Erik, on the other hand, is a bit of an idiot, to put it lightly. He'd dress simply, but about as fashionably as he could. A long, blue coat, or a simple black turtleneck. Good fashion statements, but once the group is out and about in New York's freezing temperatures, not necessarily the most practical. At the end of the day he'd have on Luisa's scarf, gloves, or hat. Something, surely. Luisa's always a bit warmer than him, anyways, as part of her mutation, so she wouldn't miss it much.
xxx13. Which of them is harder to buy for?
In Erik's mind, Luisa. In Luisa's mind, Erik. However, they're both probably equally as hard to buy for. They're both very simple people who don't need a lot, so buying things for one another is a bit difficult. They're both the type of person who wouldn't really ask for anything, either. Just spending time with each other, or doing something fun, whether it be relaxing, watching movies, or having a night out, would be enough. So, despite the difficulty of just what to buy, they're pretty easy to please.
xxx14. Who wins the snowball fights?
Luisa. Only because she's an absolute beast, no pun intended. Erik would hate to admit it, but she's certainly stronger than any of them, physically, anyhow. She's also a lot faster, too, so the man wouldn't really be able to run away fast enough, sadly. It's all in good fun, though, and despite whoever wins, they have a ton of fun doing it, even if it's something "childish". It's basically tradition for them, as soon as snow sticks well enough, they have to drop what they're doing and have a snowball fight.
xxx15. Do they decorate where they live for Christmas, or is there one measly bit of tinsel taped to the wall?
In the mansion, everyone had to decorate. It was tradition to string lights up, decorate the tree, everything. Erik and Luisa loved it, too. It felt good to make up for lost time, all the years they never really got to enjoy Christmas as children. They went the full nine yards, stringing up cute, little snowflakes and mini christmas trees wherever they could. Stockings on the fireplace, mistletoe on each and every door way, everything. However, after Charles and Erik parted ways, Christmas got a bit more somber. Erik and Luisa started doing less and less -- for it wasn't the same without their family. So full lights, ornaments, huge trees, etc, soon turned into a little tree with tinsel and a couple ornaments so it wouldn't fall down. Measly bits of tinsel and garland wherever they could put it. Erik still tries to decorate, though, for her. Their motivations are similar. Christmas may not be the same, but they're still trying to make something out of it.
xxx16. What do they decorate their snowmen with?
Well, Erik would leave the decorating up to Luisa. He'd be far too grumpy and cold to sit out there forever to decorate. However, he'd watch on happily and let her do her thing. Luisa is definitely more traditional in that aspect. She gathers out hats, scarves, carrots, pipes, and coal. For fun, she'd coax Erik into making snowman versions of one another, but it proved itself to be far too difficult when she couldn't find anything as blue as his eyes, and he couldn't find anything to replicate her gorgeous smile.
xxx17. Which one cuts the Turkey for Christmas Dinner?
Like other traditions they've formed, Erik. There's no particular reason behind it, though it's just something that's happened over the span of a couple years. It started as a joke, being that Luisa should be the one to carve the turkey with her claws, though Erik quickly shot her down and salvaged it, deciding to carve it himself.
xxx18. Do they have a two person jumper, and, if so, why?
Yes, they do. Only because Camila bought it for them because she'd thought it was funny. It was a gag gift, and, quite honestly, both Luisa and Erik were somewhat amused by it when they'd unwrapped it. However, it has yet to be taken out of the box, but neither of them have made any attempts to put it on. It wasn't something that either of them would go out and buy, as, let's be real, it's pretty weird, but at least they can say they own one, in case anyone is wondering.
xxx19. Do they host Christmas Dinner or go to it?
Host, for sure. Well, technically, anyways. They'd all be together at the mansion, regardless, so there really isn't much hosting to do. If they invited anyone, it would probably be Moira, but, of course, the rest of the mutants would be invited, too. Other than that, though, Christmas Dinner would be pretty close-knit, with everyone doing their part to host a good, extravagant dinner that they can all enjoy.
xxx20. Are they together on New Year's Eve?
New Year's Eve isn't too exciting to them, though they're almost always together, anyways. To Erik and Luisa, it's just another night to relax, stay up far too late (as usual), and watch time pass them. Not that they're complaining about that, though. It's just another day to them, in all honestly. Staying up past midnight is practically a ritual, so they find New Year's Eve to be a piece of cake, even though it's viewed as some sort of right-of-passage challenge.
